A FAMILY-FRIENDLY farmyard day takes place at Arlington Court on Sunday. Visitors are encouraged to visit and take along their own home-crafted model sheep for Open Farm Sunday.
"We're planning to have lamb talks and some fun and games with the animals, such as sheep herding and sheep racing," said Arlington ranger, Holly Purdey. "Our big craft activity will be to make as many model sheep as possible to create a huge flock on the front lawn.
"We're encouraging visitors to make a model sheep at home and bring it along on the day. It can be a drawing, painting, collage, clay model, knitted – be as creative as you like."
Several craft stalls will be on site selling pottery, sheepskin products, cheese and wool. The North Devon Spinners will host a display and a themed menu will be available in the tea room. Open Farm Sunday at Arlington Court near Barnstaple is on Sunday, June 9, 11.30am to 3.30pm . Normal admission charges apply. Possible additional charges for some of the activities.
