This is North Devon -- A BIDEFORD man has appeared on ITV's This Morning speaking of the trauma he went through after falling victim to false rape allegations. Fran Syvret appeared on Monday's episode of the show with hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to speak about false claims that he raped Bideford woman Asheigh Loder. Last month, 25-year-old Loder appeared at Exeter Crown Court where she was jailed for two false allegations of rape. Loder originally said she had been raped in an alley way in Bideford by two strangers, but after police failed to find any forensic evidence she changed her story and said she had been raped by Fran Syvret in her own home. But her story fell apart after Mr Syvret showed police photos and a video on his phone which proved Loder had willingly had sex with him. However, Loder had already spread her lies around Bideford, and Fran and his ex-partner at the time Jane, began to receive a torrent of threats. Talking to Philip Scholfield, Fran said: "Once she started spreading it around that I had raped her, I started receiving messages – well, my partner Jane did. "She got a phone call and text message basically saying someone was going to come and slit my throat. "Everywhere I went I was looking over my shoulder. I didn't go out without Jane for ages, she was constantly with me." After Loder's court hearing, her defending lawyer Greg Richardson said: "Her life was a complete dream and she convinced herself she had been raped. Who knows what was going on in her mind but she believed something within her had said no. "She is now determined to break the cycle of drink and drugs and says the situation she got into was rock bottom. She wishes to apologise sincerely to the man." Fran said the damage caused to his life had affected his whole family and he was still trying to re-build things. He told Phil and Holly: "The apology doesn't mean anything to me, not for what I've been through and what other people around me have been put through."
