Santa finds fine old locomotive masquerading as giant plum pudding This is Somerset --

Christmas has come early at the South Devon Railway where Santa seems to have spotted the biggest plum pudding in the Westcountry.

The man in the red suit seemed to be drawn towards the railway's smart, maroon-coloured steam engine pulling the line's special festive trains.

Having decided that the loco's steam dome looked just like a huge plum pudding, he just couldn't resist pouring some seasonal Cumberland white sauce over it and even adding a sprig of holly and some berries.

Workers at the attraction, which runs trains along the stunning valley of the River Dart between Buckfastleigh and Totnes, said the scene is set for the popular Santa by Steam specials due to operate today, Thursday and Friday.

The lovely old locomotive masquerading as a giant plum pudding is an ex-Great Western Railway engine repainted in London Transport colours by its owners, the Worcester Loco Society, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the first underground railway.
