Holly Springs Wants You to Name New Park Patch Holly Springs-Hickory Flat, GA --

The City of Holly Springs and the Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency is asking for your help to name the new park that will be located on Hickory Road.

Public input was integral to the park's formation; in October and November, 2012, the two governmental bodies hosted open forums to solicit input from citizens on what kinds of amentities should be added to the new facility.

Due in part to the public input, the new park was designed as a passive park area that will include walking trails, pavillions, picnic tables, and some open space. The lion's share of the park will remain natural and undisturbed. Please see the attached .pdf for a conceptual drawing of the new park.

Holly Springs is now turning to the public once again to provide a name to the new park. To submit a name, contact Jennifer Stanley at jstanley@hollyspringsga.us or visit the city's web site and click on the "Community Voice" tab on the left of the screen. Names will be collected until July 31, and the City Council will officially name the park in August.

The construction contract for the new park will be awarded in July, with construction expected to begin in August. Reported by Patch 11 hours ago.
